Hi everybody!
We all know Halloween is a scary time, right? Well imagine how scary it would be if you did not have a bicycle! It is sad but true that this Halloween there will be THOUSANDS of Iowa City residents going about their daily business without the aid of the beautiful invention. When these poor simple folk wake on Monday October 31, 2005 they will face the daunting task of dodging witches and ghouls and Spider Man, probably, by bus or car with only a non-renewable resource to power them! What can I do to help get bicycles to these folks, you ask? The solution is simple and delicious, as solutions often are. This Halloween go and enjoy lunch at Thai Flavors! The good folks at this Iowa City landmark will be donating a whopping 20% of their sales from this lunch to the Iowa City Bike Library. So go and eat heartily. Have a Hawkeye Roll or three! Get dessert! Have a beer! It is all for a great cause. Thai flavors is located at 340 E Burlington Street in Iowa City and I hope to see you there!

I am not exactly sure where to post this, maybe I need to start a "Hell In A Bike Basket" thread?
Scientist Develops Caffeinated Doughnuts
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: January 26, 2007 Filed at 7:41 a.m. ET
DURHAM. N.C. (AP) -- That cup of coffee just not getting it done anymore? How about a Buzz Donut or a Buzzed Bagel? That's what Doctor Robert Bohannon, a Durham, North Carolina, molecular scientist, has come up with. Bohannon says he's developed a way to add caffeine to baked goods, without the bitter taste of caffeine. Each piece of pastry is the equivalent of about two cups of coffee.
While the product is not on the market yet, Bohannon has approached some heavyweight companies, including Krispy Kreme, Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks about carrying it.
Don't our scientists have better things to be doing like helmet/no helmet research? And who funded this research? Maybe his employed partner?
