a brief piece on a surplus of h2s and h3s somewhere in california... themessthatgreenspanmade.blogspot.com/2005/11/hummer-overfloweth.htmlhere's a sneak peek... "We were skeptical at first. Sources can be unreliable, but the scuttlebutt was that inventory had been building for months now and the local Hummer dealer had panicked. He had begun storing his Hummer inventory at an undisclosed location, far from the dealer showroom so as not to spook jittery, prospective buyers with the mounting number of unsold H2s and H3s."

Thanks for the heads up on this whole Hummer situation thing Mr Posse. I did some poking around on the "net" and I found that Roberto Heras tested positive at the Vuelta this year and may have his golden jersey stripped from his closet. Bummer. I also found some funny (and more importantly, true) anti-Hummer quotes on that greenspan blog that I will put here for handy reference. Without further ado then:
"you're a dentist, not the left leg of voltron!"
"the Hummer SUV is a metaphor for America in the world today - overweight, overpriced, inefficient, and unloved"
poetry!

Reading the New York Times this morning I was sad to read that General Motors (proud member of the axles of evil) is going to stop production of the Hummer next month. That is the H1, not the H2 that you see around town from time to time and out in the rugged mountains of war torn Iowa never. The H1 is the flagship of the line, I learned and has a long heritage that began in 1992 according to a Hummer dealer. I can only imagine the pain and agony that this dealer of autos may feel whenever a band from the 1980's breaks up..... Oh! The heritage! Anyway, why am I sad that GM is going to stop producing an SUV that costs $140,000.00 to buy and over $150.00 to fill with gas? I am sad because this is the clearest indication yet that we cycling advocates are winning our battle with car advocates and when the last battle has been won and the last SUV pilot has climbed aboard a bicycle to go to work then what am I supposed to do with my time? WATCH TV?!?!?!?!? Oh! The humanity!
