Well my trip out to the wild wild west west was just that. I am out of the hospital now and back at home, my mountain bike is supposedly still at the bottom of some demon infested grotto in Utah, unrecoverable the sissies on the mountain bike rescue squad told me. I knew that they were lying to me and just trying to get me out of there so they could have all that XTC componentry to themselves, that kid at Sheels out at the mall warned me about that kind of stuff but I had lost so much blood I really could not argue with them. So here I sit, back in Iowa with my broken hip to keep me company. The doctor was a real nice lady and she said that maybe I could look into a bike that would be a bit easier on my old and aged body, I was in the Army, you see, and well thats not important. What is important is me finding out some information about these here recumbent bicycles quick. I should be all healed up by next April if I stick to my therapies and I am wondering if there are any folks around who can offer me some advice about where I might be able to get a recumbent, what kind would suit my needs and if there are any recumbent riding groups in the area. Thanks y'all!

Dear gpickle, I've seen something called a semi-recumbent around the area. Not fully reclined and the saddle is more like an office chair. Might be right up your alley. Anybody out there know anything about them?
And, I thought you were in the Navy... or, were you in both?
Warmest regards, cootie
